This is the start of a junior/senior/first year grad student computer
architecture textbook based on scribed
notes from the University of Texas at Austin's EE 360N class taught by
Derek Chiou. The class was originally designed and still taught
by Prof. Yale Patt. It was derived from the first draft
from Fall of 2008.
You are free to use these
notes however you like as long as you follow the copyright (cite the
original source and authors.)
The notes have been passed over quickly once for technical correctness,
but there are certainly still errors. My hope is that by making
these notes open source and easy to modify (Google Docs is quite good
at that) that we can create a living text book that is up-to-date and
fairly error-free.
