BIOGRAPHY
Hongseok
Kim entered the University of Texas, Austin in Aug. 2005 as a Ph.D. student,
joined Prof. Gustavo de Veciana`s
group in Jan. 2006 and advanced to Ph.D. candidacy in Sep. 2007, and
defended in Oct. 2009. His research is about wireless networking and
communications, focused on energy-efficient wireless systems, scheduling and
QoS in wireless networks, cross-layer design, spatial load balancing, etc. He
graduated from Seoul Science High School,
a top magnet school for gifted students in math and sciences. He received B.S.
and M.S. degrees in Electrical
Engineering, Seoul National University in 1998 and 2000,
respectively. During master years, He studied various subjects of stochastic
signal processing. From 2000 and 2005, He was a member of technical staff at Korea Telecom Network Laboratory and studied
broadband access networks including ADSL, VDSL, Ethernet-PON and WDM-PON.
