We use nanostructured materials to create novel optoelectronic components and optical media and utilize them for various applications.

Our current research interests include the devel-opment of terahertz quantum cascade lasers, using engineered optical nonlinearities and intra-cavity frequency mixing to extend the spectral range of quantum cascade lasers to near infrared and terahertz, developing mid-infrared and terahertz photonic components and systems for chemical sensing, and developing and studying metamaterials in mid-infrared.
