To my students in EE 306, I have been told by some students that they have been denied access to our EE 306 web page and to other pages belonging to the ECE website. I actually have had that problem myself. It is a function of heightened security of the ECE website. The simplest way to deal with it is to remove all cookies from your browser. Cookies are pieces of information supplied to your browser by some webserver who wants to retain information about you from your previous accesses of that web server. For each of the common browsers, the instructions for removing cookies are given below. Once the cookies are removed, close the browser, restart it, and you should be able to now access the EE 306 web page. Good luck with the rest of EE 306. Yale Patt Firefox, running on Linux: ========================= At the top of the browser, you will see Edit. Clicking on it brings up a drop down menu. Click on Preferences. This will bring up a small window. At the top, click on Privacy. This changes the content of the window. Click on "remove individual cookies." This brings up a smaller window. Click on "Remove all cookies." Then close the small window, then close the larger window. Then close the browser. Then restart the browser, and you should be in business. Firefox, running on Windows: =========================== On the top left corner of the browser, you will see an orange colored "Firefox" button. Clicking on it will bring up a drop down menu. Click on Options. Internet Explorer: ================= On the top right corner of the browser, you will find a "Tools" icon in the shape of a small cog wheel. Clicking on it will bring up a drop down menu. Click on Internet Options. A small window pops up, with a title "Internet Options". At the top, click on General. You would see a section labeled "Browsing history" in the window. Click on the button "Delete..." in it. Another window should pop up. In this window, ensure the box next to "Cookies" is checked. If not, click on it to check it. The press the "Delete" button at the bottom of the window. Now click OK in the window labeled "Internet Options". Then close the browser. Then restart the browser. Safari, running on Macs: ======================= Open a Safari browser, at the top left corner of your screen you will see the word "Safari" (to the right of the apple), click it. Then click "Preferences", a preferences window should open up. At the top of the preferences window you will see many icons and one of them says "Security", click it. Towards the middle you should see a section that say "Accept Cookies:", under that should be a button that says "Show Cookies", click it. A drop down window will show up. On the window you will see a list of your cookies and towards the bottom will be a button that says "Remove All", click it. Then click "Done". Then close your Safari browser and restart it.
