My students, I usually do not use the class email list to send you general announcements, but this one is something I think you really should know about. So, ... The IEEE Computer Society is hosting a freshman embedded systems competition designed for students currently taking EE 306. Each team will receive (and get to keep) the board that you will use in 319K next semester. They anticipate the competition to take several hours (about 3). The first hour will be an interactive "lecture" in which they introduce the board, the subset of the assembly language you may need, and how to program it. They are providing all parts that you may need (the competition is completely free to you). When: Saturday, November 16, 10AM Where: ACA 1.104 Link to signup page (and a more detailed description): http://bit.ly/ieeecsfreshcomp2013 For those of you who decide to do this, good luck! I will see you in class on Monday. Yale Patt
