Modeling Realistic Electromagnetic Effects on MIMO System Capacity

Abstract:

Computational electromagnetics (CEM) is used to characterize the effect of realistic propagation on the capacity of multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems. Mutual information results for a MIMO system operating at 1.8 GHz in an urban micro-cellular environment are presented.
