Agilent Technologies produces the Advanced Design System (ADS) for mixed analog, digital, and radio frequency simulation and board-level design for wireless systems. For digital simulation, ADS uses the (untimed) synchronous dataflow model of computation and communication, and includes the kernel and synchronous dataflow domain of Ptolemy Classic in a tool within ADS called HP Ptolemy. ADS also has timed extensions to synchronous dataflow to provide seemless cosimulation with analog and RF circuits in communication systems. (Agilent is a spinoff of HP. Agilent's first fiscal year started on November 1, 1999.)
National Instruments produces LabVIEW for mixed analog and digital simulation and synthesis. Synthesis of LabVIEW dataflow graphs onto embedded processor and field programmable gate array (FPGA) boards is supported. LabVIEW supports the (untimed) synchronous dataflow model of computation and communication for modeling digital signal processing and digital communication systems, and also provides dynamically scheduled dataflow models and finite state machine models. (NI was founded in 1976 and went public in 1995.)
