"In the multi-bit sigma-delta arena, 256x and 512x (even 768x) master clock-to-sample rate ratios are common. It's not clear how many bits the internal quantizers are using, though I would guess maybe five or six. They are properly dithered. Performance these days is a very large dynamic range (120 dB or so) but a somewhat poorer THD+N figure (around 105 dB typical). Sample rates have gone up to 192 kHz and the manufacturers seem to be concentrating on these rates for the future."
THD means total harmonic distortion, and N means noise.
