** An advanced laboratory course must be taken prior to EE 464C/H/K. For computer engineering majors, the advanced laboratory is EE 345L, which is a required course in the computer engineering curriculum. Electrical engineering majors would choose from a possible list of advanced laboratory courses, which would include EE 321, EE 321K, EE 440, EE 345L, EE 345S, EE 362L, and EE 374L. Electrical engineering majors may count the advanced laboratory course as a technical area elective.
Students must pass a total of three courses that meet the substantial writing component requirement. Typically, EE students take EE 333T, EE 155, and EE 464C/H/K to fulfill this requirement. Note that E 306 and E 316K do not have substantial writing components.
Three courses were added as required courses:
One courses that used to be required would become a free elective:
Four courses that used to be required would become technical area electives:The number of technical electives is reduced from two to one.
The total number of hours for the BSEE degree would be reduced from 128 to 123.
