	Hey Dr.Patt

Hey Mr. Student

This is *****, I am in your ee306 class. My group and I are
confused about #5 on the problem set. Did you want us to simply
convert the numbers into 8-bit format?

That's all the question asks for. I felt it was important to be sure you knew
how to extend or decrease the number of bits used to represent a value.
It should not take you more than half a minute to solve this problem if you
have been understanding what we have been doing in class so far.

Or do you also want us to find
the the number in the negative form as well as in the 8-bit format.

	Thank you for your time!

While I have your attention, I should tell you that I flew to Barcelona last
night, so I am logged in right now from UPC, the technical university here. I
am not able to spend as much time dealing with email while I am away as I do
when I am in my office, so your questions may go unanswered a lot longer than
usual. Perhaps another incentive to see one of the TAs in office hours or
discussion section.

Good luck with this first assignment, and I will see you when I get back.
