Although not essential for your preparation for the exam, I thought I would
forward this anyway. Feel free to delete, or put it on the stack until you
have time to deal with it, perhaps after the semester is over.

A student writes:

	hey proffessor patt

hey student.

i hope every thing is well.

except for email, everything is great!

i am doing problem, 2 in our problem set. D latches are used for
	memory storage correct?

I would say D latches are used for storage. More than just memory, and there
are other ways to build storage in memory. But yes, they can be used for
memory storage, although there other, more efficient ways to build memory that
you will learn about later in your college career.

so than there would be no real practical application of connecting it
to the clock like that right?

<<name withheld to protect the student who finds no use for problem 2>>

Wrong? There are lots of practical applications for doing what problem 2
does.
But they are beyond the scope of EE 306. When you take EE 360R, remember to
send me email telling me you now see a use for it.

Good luck on the exam.
