My TAs tell me a substantial number of students are having trouble getting the 
program done by Sunday night.

I think it is important for you all to finish this program, provided you can 
do so without getting unauthorized help.

Therefore, we will leave the submission gate open until Tuesday at 11:59pm.  
Any program submitted after midnight Sunday night but before midnight Tuesday 
night will be accepted and graded.  

A 20 point late penalty will be assessed for programs submitted during that 
period.  i.e., if the late program is perfect, it will receive a grade of 80.

In 45 years of teaching, I have never done this before.  But I feel it is very 
important for you all to try to complete all the programs.  
So, I am doing it this time.  There will be no regrade, so please be sure to 
read the specifications of the assignment carefully and be sure your program 
does what the specification asks for.
