I am not sure I emphasized an important point about the homework problems.

Homework problems are assigned to help you learn the material. Sometimes
we put in the homework a tough problem that not everyone is going to get
quickly, and in fact many will not get at all. ...and that is okay.
My hope is that you will make a serious attempt to solve it before giving up.

Problem 6B is such a problem.

In fact, it is okay if you struggle with problems like 6B and do not
get them, as long as you look at the solution sheet afterward, and see
how to solve them. Effective learning does happen if (a) you struggle
with a problem but don't get it, followed by (b) seeing the answer
and making all the connections.

So, please do not beat yourself up if you do not get all the problems on
a problem set. What is important is whether you understand how to do them
by the time the exam comes around.

OK?

Good luck with the rest of 306.
