This email is troubling. I do not know whether the student is attending class or going to discussion session. Since it will take you less than a minute to read, I am sharing it with you. Perhaps someone can help me after the exam to understand why this is a problem for anyone in the class at this point. Right now, you need to prepare for the exam. Good luck with it! A student writes: > On question 5(c) what is the width of the program counter used in this > case? > Doesn't seem to be mentioned in the chapter or the problem itself? > Or maybe I'm blind. > > - > Regards, > > <<name withheld to protect the student who I am concerned about>> The statement of the problem makes it very clear what the width of the program counter is in this case. Not by giving you a number, but by giving you enough information that you can easily compute that number yourself. If you are unable to, you need to see a TA as soon as possible, and have him/her lead you through the problem. Did you attend discussion session last Friday? If yes, why did you not ask your TA this question in the discussion session? Yale Patt
