To my students in EE 306,

This message does not affect all of you, but it does affect enough of you
that I am sending it to the whole class.

If you are not using VMware to connect to a virtual desktop to work on
your lab, you can simply delete this message and move on.  Well over half
of you are not using VMware, so you will be able to ignore this message.

Now then, for those of you who are using VMware:

The reason you are having problems connecting is that ECE turned control
of the virtual desktop system that you have been using over to ITS, and 
they have had hardware problems since Thursday, which apparently have not
yet been fixed.  Fortunately, ECE has a small backup system that can 
connect to your virtual desktop so hopefully we will be okay.

To access this system replace the server address "vdesk.utexas.edu" with
the backup server address "vlrc.ae.utexas.edu" in the VMware connection
prompt.

If you still have problems, please let me or one of the TAs know.

Hopefully, you will still be able to finish Lab 2 and submit it by the
deadline, Sunday night at 11:59pm.
