The ECE department considers C- a passing grade in EE 306, and allows you
to move on to EE319K in the Spring.

I will admit that a C- does not give me a warm feeling, but I have decided
to err on the side of giving you a chance to work hard in EE 319K and prove
that I did the right thing by allowing you to move along.  I know EE 306 was
challenging, but you showed me on your final exam and on your labs that you
may not need to retake 306, and I decided to give you a chance.

Please do not let me down.
