Sat, 16th Dec, 2017, 23:53 Please check your lab, etc. grades on canvas
My students, Congratulations! The work is done, and now my TAs and I have final exams to grade, and final grades to assign. Please check Canvas to be sure there is no discrepancies between the grades you got on everything so far, and the record on Canvas. I will be assigning grades Tuesday evening, and want to be sure we have the correct data on all your work. If there is any discrepancy, please email Siavash BEFORE Tuesday. On Tuesday, I will consider what is shown on Canvas as your grades on all graded item in the course Your final exam will be available for you to look at in my secretary's office, Room EER 5.804, every afternoon, starting on Wednesday, and through the end of January. We will also have posted a solution sheet by then so you can check your work. I strongly encourage you to look at your exam for two reasons. First, it is a good way to reinforce your knowledge of the material of 306 by comparing your answers with those on the solution sheet. Second, our grading is not perfect, so we do sometimes (not often) make mistakes. If we did make a mistake in grading, I want to correct it, and if that results in a grade change, I will make that grade change. The process for examining your final exam is as follows: 1. Sign in on our register, which my secretary will give you. 2. Show my secretary your UT id card, and she will hand you your exam. You can look at your exam as long as you want in her office before returning it to her. I can not let you leave the room with the exam. I also do not want you to write on the exam. 3. If you feel there has been any error in grading, tell her which problems have been graded incorrectly. She will note that on the exam, and give the exam to me. (As I said, if we made a mistake, I will correct it.) 4. Return the exam to her, sign out on our register. Do not feel you need to do this before you leave for the semester break. The exams will be in her office until the end of January, and if this means I have to issue a grade change in late January because we made a mistake, I will be happy to do so. Also, if you want to contact me for any reason, either email or in my office, you are welcome to do so. I expect to be around the entire semester break. I hope you will be able to have a good semester break. The semester has been a lot of work, so you have earned some time to just relax. Good luck with EE319K in the Spring. Best wishes, Yale Patt
