My students,

A few things.

First, I am delighted to have provided entertainment value for a lot of you.
After class, I did read the 99 chats that you provided, and enjoyed them a lot.
One major plus: I now know how to use a laser pointer on Zoom, and I did not
even have to enroll in Zoom 101, as some of you suggested. Very cute!

Also, thank you for the feedback on my handwriting. I will try to do better,
although it is not clear I will succed on that one.

Anyhow, more seriously: Everyone in the class should be receiving this email.
The list was made based on the email address you have supplied to the
university. I want to be sure you all have the necessary equipment (laptop,
internet access, etc.) to be able to watch my lectures and ask questions as
they are going on. As I told you, I will not treat you like children and
take attendance. You are trusted to decide for yourself whether what I am
saying is worth listening to. We will also put the recordings of the lectures
on line so you can go back and rerun anything you need to. And, as I pointed
out already, TA discussion sessions, on-line office hours with the TAs and me,
and zoom meetings with others in your study group. ALL should be taken
advantage of as you find them useful.

If you have any problems with access to a laptop, internet, etc., please send
me or Chester email.

See you in class on Wednesday, ...and please stay safe.
