Welcome back to the rest of Spring semester. You all got my email of a
couple of days ago. I want to add a few things for your planning.

1. We will not start regular class lectures until April 8. This week
will be for a review session on Zoom on Monday and the exam on Wednesday.

2. The zoom meeting id for the rest of the semester will be (found in the actual email).

3. Aniket will open each meeting at 4:50pm, so you can all get connected by
5pm. Tomorrow (Monday), I first want to check to be sure that you all are
able to connect. I will only do that tomorrow for the simple purpose of
making sure you all can connect. After tomorrow, you are as always free
to come to class as you find useful. I have never taken attendance in the
past and I do not plan to now.

4. After we make sure everyone can connect, I will answer any administrative
questions about the rest of the semester, and then turn it over to Aniket to
conduct a revieww session. 

5. Any technical questions for me, please send me email and I will answer.
My experience is that students are most comfortable asking me questions over
email. If that is not the caes with you, please let me know and we will figure
out an on-line mechanism.

6. We have prepared a template with space for the answer to each question on
the exam. Aniket will send you the template tomorrow before class. We will
send you the exam itself on Wednesday at 5pm. I do not think it will take
you much more than an hour, but will expect you to send your solution (the
filled in template) to us by 8pm. I am adding the slack just in case there
are technical glitches. If there are glitches during the exam period on
Wednesday that prevent you from sending us your exam, please let us know
that before 8pm and we will figure out a plan B for that.

7. After the exam, the only other graded material will be the project. Based
on our initial design reviews, I believe all 9 teams can complete the project
successfully. Aniket and I will keep track of your team project for the rest
of the semester to the degree we think necessary. If you run into trouble or
want to talk to us about anything, please do not hesitate. Even in good times,
where the three of you can sit around the table regularly to work on the
project, completing the project is a heavy task. With the added nightmare of
the coronavirus, it is much worse. I understand that, and am available to
talk to you if you need me to at any time. Send me email and we can set up a
time to talk, if you find it useful. At this point I am still hopeful that
all nine teams will do fine, and will make use of zoom, skype, telephone and
whatever other on-line mechanisms that you can find as they are useful.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 5pm. Hopefully, we can all get
through this nightmare with no permanent scars.
