Tue, 24 Aug 2021, 20:54 Welcome!

My students in EE306,

Welcome to UT. Our first class will be tomorrow at 3:30pm. Unfortuntaely, the
covid19 situation is such that I have no choice but to teach the class on line.
The Zoom Meeting ID is 951 6535 6341. The purpose of this email is to give you
a heads up before class tomorrow.

First I want to be sure all students enrolled in my class get this email.
Please send email to: ta.jason@my.utexas.edu so I can make sure I have reached
you.

We will use both CANVAS and my course web page in EE306.

Most of our interaction will use my course web page. The url is www.ece.utexas.edu/~patt/21f.306.
You can also access it by going to my home page (www.ece.utexas.edu/~patt) and
scrolling down to the courses I have taught and clicking on EE306 for Fall,
2021. Problem sets, Programming Labs, Handouts, emails, etc. will all be
accessible from the course web page. Most importantly right now are the Course
Descriptor, Additional Information, and the Course Outine (aka Syllabus) which
is a lecture by lecture outline of the course. Please read them before class
tomorrow, so you can ask questions if anything is not clear.

The course web page is visible to anyone who wants to access it. It is also
important to have a mechanism where information is protected, so only those who
have a right to see it will have access. We will use CANVAS for that purpose.
Submitting problem sets. programs, exams, etc. and receiving grades for your
work will all use CANVAS.

Also, the Zoom Meeting ID for each of the Discussion Sections is also listed on
CANVAS. The Discussion Sections will meet on Thursday and Friday this week, so
please be sure to get the Meeting ID for your discussion section from CANVAS.

I look forward to seeing you in class tomorrow. I hope you have a great
semester, even though we are starting out on line instead of in person.

Stay safe.
