Sun, 26 Sep 2021, 02:08 Moving to in-person versus staying on Zoom

My students,

If you have already taken the survey on moving EE306 to in-person in our
assigned classroom (WCH 1.120), feel free to delete this message and move on.

If you haven't, I need you to complete the survey as soon as possible,
preferably before class on Monday. It should take you less than one minute
to complete.

It has been suggested that we should apply for an exception and remain on Zoom.
But the overwhelming majority of the 129 students who have already taken the
survey have made it very clear that they want to move to in-person and are
willing to wear masks if we do so. I personally prefer in-person also since
I think it is better education, ...but only if we can do so safely.

If we move to in-person, we will also broadcast the lectures over Zoom
so anyone not wanting to be in the classroom can continue over Zoom as
we have been doing so far.

Returning to in-person is a decision that affects all of us, so I want to get
everyone's opinion on this. Please take the time to weigh in. One of my TAs
suggested that I should give you extra points if you take the survey. But that
would be treating you like you were still in Middle School and I prefer to
treat you like adults.

To access the survey, go to the EE306 Canvas Page and click Quizzes on the
left-hand side navigation. If you have any problem accessing the survey,
contact any TA as soon as possible, and he will help you. If you want to talk
to me about in-person classes, feel free to send me email and we can set up a
Zoom meeting for just the two of us if you wish.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. See you in class on Monday.

Stay safe.
