Mon, 25 Oct 2021, 21:26 Q-drops
My students, I was just notified that one of my students has submitted a request to Q-drop EE306. So I now have 183 students enrolled, rather than 184. As always, when I get email to that effect, it bothers me in that I feel I failed that student. It also reminds me that although a few students probably do not belong in ECE, most of you (overwhelmingly) do belong, and you can absolutely succeed in 306. Sometimes students drop based on incomplete information, and I wish they had come and talked to me before dropping the course. My simple message is that I wish you would discuss the situation with me before taking a Q-drop in EE306. Be assurred, I will not try to talk you out of dropping. It is your life, your decision. I just want your decision to be based on as complete information as possible. The deadline for Q-drop is this Thursday, but one can also drop after that deadline if you have a non-academic reason for doing so. We can discuss that also if you like. My hope in this email is that you do not Q-drop the course because you are operating with incomplete information when you are perfectly capable of completing the course successfully. But, of course, it is up to you. Good luck with the rest of EE306. And, most importantly, stay safe. Yale Patt
