Engineering Prediction Test


My students,

I am involved in a discussion with some colleagues on what information would be a good predictor of 
student success in engineering school.  One of them has prepared a short test that he would like ECE 306 
students to take.  I do not want to bias you so I will say nothing about the test until after you all have 
taken it.

The test is completely voluntary.  What I would like you to do is take the test seriously and submit the 
solution sheet via Canvas.  It should not take you more than 15 or 20 minutes at most, probably less.  
Unless someone knows differently, there is no way you can conveniently do this anonymously, so to 
make sure it is anonymous, I will delete your name and any other identifying information on what you 
submit before I do anything with your solution. 

Your name will not be associated with the solution you submit.  The ONLY purpose of the test is to aid 
our discussion of what is a good predictor of success in engineering school, and for me to hand the 
solutions to the professor after deleting all identifying information.

The test is attached to this email.  Please submit the completed test on canvas as a .pdf file.  You can find 
the submission link under assignments on the canvas page for ECE306.  I would like you to do this before 
the end of the week, in time for my next conversation with the professor who made up the test.
