My students,

Just a few words before Spring break.  I know that some of you were not
happy with your performance on the first midterm.  Please do not take that
as an invitation to give up.  There is plenty still in front of us until
the end of the semester, and plenty of time to still earn an A in 460N.

As some of you know from being in my class before, I am much more interested
in what you have mastered at the end of the semester than I am interested
in what you have mastered at the half-way point.  In fact, if you do well
from here on, I tend to discount the first exam.  So, if you did not do well
on the first exam, please renew your focus on 460N and demonstrate from here
on that you can master this material.

If you want to meet with me privately to discuss your situation, I am very
willing to meet with you.  Send me email and we will set up a time to meet
over Zoom.

Enjoy Spring break, and come back afterward ready to succeed.
