My students, I have issued grades for 460N, so you should have them within the next several hours. The final exams have been graded and are now available for you to look at. I encourage you strongly to look at your final exam for at least two reasons. (1) It is a good learning exercise to see the correct answer and solidify your understanding of the material. (2) Although my TAs and I are very careful about grading, we are not perfect and do sometimes make mistakes. The solution to the final exam along with some explanations where I thought they might be helpful are posted on the course website under Handouts. If you think a grading mistake was made, please contact one of my TAs, who will look at your solution. If the TAs feels you are correct, he will bring it to my attention. If the TA feels the problem was graded correctly, and you still disagree, you should feel free to contact me and I will look at it. If an error was made in grading, it will be corrected. If that results in a change to your final grade in the course, I will gladly submit a grade change form to the Registrar's office. Under no circumstances will you be penalized for an error in grading caused by me or one of my TAs. Finally, I hope you got something out of 460N this Spring. I am disappointed in the learning environment we had to endure this year, but there was little we could do about it. Hopefully, we will be back on campus in the Fall and 2020-2021 will just be an unpleasant memory. In the meantime, good luck with what comes next, and please stay safe. As I have told you in the past, if you want to meet with me, or exchange email, you should not hesitate to do so. Best wishes, Yale Patt
