        My students,

        You are getting this email because you are on the Registrar's list, enrolled
        in 460N this semester.  Welcome to the class.  You probably know it is going
        to be a lot of work, but I hope you will learn a lot, build a strong
        foundation in computer architecture, and enjoy the successes you achieve 
        throughout the semester.
        
        Our first class meeting is next Monday, August 22, in ECJ 1.202, at 5pm.  
        I hope to see you there.  If there is any reason you can't be there and 
        still wish to be in the class, please send me email.  If you know someone 
        who wants to take 460N but for one reason or another, has not been able 
        to register, please let them know that they should contact me, and I will 
        do my best to accommodate them.

        Scroll down to the courses I have taught and am teaching and click on 460N
        for this semester.  That will get you the home page of the Course page.
        Please read the Course Descriptor and Syllabus.  We will spend some time on
        them Monday, but if you have read it first, that will help.
        
        If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of
        my TAs.  Enjoy the rest of your last week of vacation.  I look forward to
