    My students,

    I have gotten several inquiries from students in 460N asking about TAing 306
    with me next fall, so I thought I should tell you my plan.  I will be teaching
    a double section of 306 in the fall, so I should have several TA positions to
    fill.  Right now, there are too many other things on my plate, so I am not
    going to deal with TAs for 306 until the end of the semester.  If you want
    to TA 306 in the fall, let me know that around final exam time and we will
    meet to discuss it.  I will attempt to fill the slots with the students who
    I think will be best suited to the job.  Our job is to help those taking 306
    learn the concepts, and I am very much committed to making that happen as
    best we can.  I will meet with every student who wants the job, and we will
    go from there.  Right now, I am concerned about 460N.

    One more thing.  The first draft of Chapter 2 of the evolving textbook for
    460N is now done and is available to you from the course webpage.  As with
    the other chapters, I would appreciate any comments on it.  If something
    was explained poorly, for example, I would like your feedback so I can try
    to fix it in the second draft!
