[TAG 51:18] MB aged 12 in 1635. Conjecture by ``the late Miss Bertha W. Clarke, a careful genealogist'', that Mary might have become the wife of JR at Bride Brook as she thought Thomas Birchard was sufficiently influential to persuade Gov John Wintthrop to come down to perform the ceremony.

[TAG 51:18-19] TB and MR had 8 children: Elizabeth, Mary, Sara, Susanna, John Thomas, Deborah and Hannah. TB and family left on the Truelove from London 19 September 1635 (TB aged 40, MR 38, Elizabeth 13, Mary 12, Sara 9, Suzanna 8, John 7, and Ann 18 mos). TB married 2) widow Katherine Andrews on 21 July 1659; 3) Deborah -- who died 10 May 1680. TB died in 1683 or 1684, leaving a will subsequently lost.

[TAG 51:17] WB and CF settled just over the line in Fairsted where their 5 children were christened: Thomas, William, Richard, Mary and Katherine. Widow Catherine Birchard, presumably the mother, was buried at Terling, adjoining Fairsted and Great Leighs.
