[Fairfield 1:83] Will at Orinoge 18 July 1689, proved 7 November 1689 mentions wife Miriam, eldest son Zechariah, two unmarried daughters Elizabeth and Martha, 5 daughters disposed of (Sarah Cunny, Mary Searles, Hannah Gilbert, Miriam Northop, and Jane Russell). The overseers were brothers Samuel Wheeler, Moses Wheeler, Ephriam Stiles and son-in-law Joseph Northrop. Married 1) -- Styles, daughter of Francis; 2) Miriam Wheeler, daughter of Moses, b 28 March 1647. Will of Miriam Groom of Oronoge dated at Milford 4 October 1693, inventoried at Stratford and Milford 6 November 1693.

[Stratford2 131] Wife Jane appears to have been the sister of Moses Wheeler. 6 children: mary, John, James, Samuel, Deliverance, and Benjamin. Among the first settlers of Stratford. No mention of any other minister until the call of Mr Chauncey in 1665. Was the ninster for 26 years at Stratford, from 1639. Graduated from Christ College Oxford, matriculated 23 May 1617 (at 19 years of age). Cotton mather said of him ``... a useful preaching of the gospel first in Leistershire, then in Derbyshire, but coming to New England from the storm that began to look black upon him, ...'' His salary in 1651 was 63 pounds.

[Fairfield 1:82] AB came over c1638 and was for a short time at Guilford. The first minister at Stratford, 1640 where he died 7 September 1665. Will dated 16 March 1664/5, inventoried 22 September 1665. JW's will dated 20 September 1671, inventoried 23 January 1673/4.
