[663/3005] ?
Tradition has existed that John Brockett was the Eldest son of Sir John Brockett, of Brockett Hall, Hertfordshire, England; that, on account of his puritanical ideas, his father (who had been knighted by Queen Elizabeth) disinherited him, and that John gave up all his claims to the title and estates of the Brocketts in England, in order to join the Puritan Band which came with Davenport to America [see pp 25-26].
No record of his marriage. Records refer to Sister Brockett so that he found a wife between 1640 and 1646. 1669 he moved with about 100 people to the village called Wallingford. For many years he served the town in the general assembly. 11 children.
