[Savage 1:269] Of Plymouth. Had acquaintance with the Pigrims at Leyden before 1620 but his year of coming is unknown. In 1636 he lived in Duxbury; 1643, Taunton. Assistant 17 years from 1636. Served as Commissionar of the United Colonies from 1644 for 12 years. Had Mary who married Thomas Willet. Had a large estate.

[Plymouth1 45] John Brown probably came before 1636 with wife Dorothy and three children: James who married Lydia, daughter of John Howland, Mary who married Thomas Willet, and John. They lived in Plymouth, Duxbury and Swansea where he died in 1662.
