[Chapman1 68-9] When RC died, he owned 2000 acres of land in Saybrook, Est Haddam and Hebron. For many years, RC was the cleark of Oyster River Quarter and commisioner of the town of Saybrook. He was held in high esteem by the church under Rev. Thomas Buckingham. By SG, had 9 children: Samuel, Robert, Sarah, Francis, Dorcus, Stephen, a son, Sarah, and a son. RC married 2) Mary Sheather, relick of Samuel Sheather of Kenilworth, 29 October 1694, and had 4 children: Benjamin, Mehitable, Stephen, and Abigail.
