Cranes 1910-1932. June 1932 Elford got thru at Cranes and was out of work
19 months. December 1933 started work at Underwoods; April 1936 worked at
the Hartford Ct plant; August 1937 returned to the Bridgeport plant.
January 1937 social security started. 13 October 1939 laid off at
Underwoods, given recommendation at M.M.M.; started work at Manning,
Maxwell and Moore (Ashcrofts) 16 October 1939. Laid off 8 February 1946
to make place for a returning veteran. Started work at Metropolitan Body,
18 February 1946. Retired 15 September 1950.
[Sanford 1313] Attended the Boardman Manual Training School in New
Haven. After leaving school he was in Maryland a short time as a
draughtsman for an inventer. He afterwards was employed as a
draughtsman at Pratt & Whitney of Hartford, Frary & Clark of New
Britain, The Electric Vehicle Co., automobile makers, and is now with
the Pope Manufacturing in Hartford.
[RCC] ELC came in from raking the leaves, sat down and died in his chair.
GAJ was then moved to live with RCC and CWM and died there of cancer.

That the middle initial B in William B Clark is Bradley is found in the
pension declaration of Mynetta Clark Hughes of 28 November 1923
Wounded on a civil war battlefield. East Rock Monument in New Haven
Conn. Buried in the Fair Haven Union Cemetery, Avenue D, East side
(Cemetery Inscriptions, New Haven 215 Cemeteries 4 page 1128) [We
checked the cemetery: we could not find a tombstone there, nor did the
caretaker have records that went back that far].
