[TAG 3:594] HM married 2nd Nicolas Elsey.

[Coe 80] RC came to New England in the Spring of 1634. Of Watertown Mass, Wethersfield Conn, and Stamford Conn. Fathers and Brothers moved to Long Island in 1644. He stayed and in 1650 married and settled in Stratford. He died intestate; on October 20, 1659 his estate was inventoried at 179-08-00.

[Coe 71-77] RC next appears in Boxford, Co Suffolk, in 1625, as an overseer of cloth. He came to New England in 1634: left Ipswich in the Francis 30 April 1634 (Capt John Cutting), aged 38 with wife Anna aged 43, children John 8, Robert 7, and Benjamin 5. Of Boston, Watertown, and Wethersfield, the latter for 5 years. In November of 1640, he purchased lands at Stamford, having left Wethersfield because of religious differences. In 1644, Robert Coe and Rev Richard Denton and others left for Hempstead LI, where he was an elder until his death. RC was a leader in the formation of the new settlement at Mespat, first called Middleburg, but in 1665 changed to Newtown. In the autumn of 1663, LI revolted against the Dutch; in May 1664 he was the deputy for Jamaica at Hartford. Mary was buried 27 October 1628 and was the mother of all the children. RC married second Hannah Dearslay, 29 April 1630; married 3rd Jane Rouse, widow of John Smith of Tauton and Edward Rouse.
