[NEHGR 137:291-305] TH's wife was either Katherine, born 1509, Elizabeth, born 1510/11, or Eleanor, born 1513. That she was the daughter of Alexander Courthope is learned from the will of her brother Peter Courthope.

[NEHGR 137:291-305] AC, founder of a once prominent family of Cranbrook, Co Kent. His parentage is unknown, though there are Courthopes found at Canterbury and other towns in Kent at an early date. AC was a clothier and evidently very prosperous. His son John is evidently much older than the other children, so it seems that AC probably had an ealier wife before Katherine. ACs will is dated 26 February 1523/4 and proved 6 January 1525/6. Children: John born c1485-90, Richard born c1503, Peter born late 1505, William born late 1507, Katherine born late 1509, Elizabeth born c September 1510, and Eleanor born late 1513.
