[Gillespie 110-116] AD married 2nd Susannah (1678-1766) daughter of Wm and Mary (Clark) Chatterton and widow of Joshua Hitchkiss. No children with SC. In 14 February 1697/8, EG's great grandmother, Mrs Jane Gregson (aged widow of ?Thomas Gregson -- one of the wealthiest of the original planters) gave them 9 acres of land in the necke. Sergeant in 1710; lieutenant in May 1722. Served 5 terms as townsman between 1710 and 1729. Will dated 7 May 1748; proved in July 1748; estate valued at 3177-11-06 in June 1750. 8 children: Abraham, John, mary, Elizabeth, Hannah, Joseph, Sarah, and Daniel.

[Gillespie 110-116] Dowry confirmed in 9 March 1648/9 deed -- having given them 18 3/4 acres, including 3 acres in the place "commonly called Cooper's Quarter". 17 April 1668, AD bought Thomas Kimberly's house, barn and lot on the corner of Church and Elm Streets diagonally across from the Green. Freeman in October 1669; Townsman 1668-99 with the exception of 4 years. 10 May 1683 first elected as a deputy to the Connecticut General Assembly, serving 21 terms. Also Lieutenant of the New Haven Train Band. On the committee in forming Wallingford 69-74. Kept the ordinary 1671-1680; also acquired respectable land holdings. In 1680, rated for tax purposes at 86-18-00; 134-00-00 in 1683; and 121-00-00 in 1702. Will dated 20 April 1710. Had 8 children: Mary, Sarah, Hannah, Ruth, Abigail, Abraham, Isaac, and Rebeccah.
