[NEHGR 137:291-305] TH was a merchant of Cranbrook, Kent, where the cloth trades were flourishing at that time. He advanced 10 marks on the 1542 loan to the king. He died at a relatively young age, survived by his father, four sons and a daughter aged about eleven. No wife is mentioned in his will, so she must have died earlier. Printed will is dated 17 November 1547 and proved 7 June 1548. Children: John, Richard, Mary, Thomas and Stephen. Mentions father John Harman.

TH's wife was either Katherine, born 1509, Elizabeth, born 1510/11, or Eleanor, born 1513. That she was the daughter of Alexander Courthope is learned from the will of her brother Peter Courthope.
