[NEHGR 149:173-186] The marriage of William Heth was found in the parish of Waltham Abbey, Essex, on 9 June 1580, to Agnes Cheney. Further new evidence that william Heath is in fact the father of immigrants Isaac and William

[NEHGR 146:265-8] That William and not either brother Robert or John was the father of the next generation of Heaths in Ware is strongly suggested by the fact that he inhereited his father's house there, to the exclusion of his brothers. While the registers do not include the father's name, the spacing of the children baptized betwen 1581 and 1604 strongly imply only one family there. Beginning in 1604 the registers do include the father's name - in this case William for the youngest sone Thomas.

[NEHGR 146:264-66] EH is the earliest proven Heath ancester in England, Born say 1525. Lived in Little Amwell, a hamlet in the parish of Ware, Hertforshire, where he was buried 8 March 1592/3. He was a collarmaker. He married, sa 1550, Alice --. Will dated 6 March 1592/3, proved 23 March 1592/3 was witnessed by Wilm Nycoll and George Bearstolke.

[NEHGR 149:173-186] Robert is listed in the subsidy of 1545 for Little Amwell. From the chronology and the fact that Edward named a son Robert, we may conclude taht Robert Heath of Little Amwell was probably the father of EH of that place. In advanced age, Robert was named overseer and called father-in-law in the will of Thomas Wattes, yeoman, of Ware, dated 20 January 1570/1, proved 31 May 1571. Two years later he served as a witness to the will fo John Dyckeson of Ware.
