[NEHGR 147:237] WK of Bures St Mary, Suffolk, possibly the brother of Thomas Knopp, died before his wife. WK and his wife ER received legacies by the will of her father, John Reade, dated 8 July 1597, proved 15 November 1597. He had 5 children: Margaret, bp. Aug 1585; John, bp. 12 Nov 1587; Rose, bp 22 Feb 1589/90; Elizabeth; and William, bp 16 Jan 1596/7 (married Margaret Deane, d of Henry Deane).

No connection has been found between the Knopp family of Bures St Mary and the family of Nicholas Knapp, another early settler of Watertown, later of Stamford and Fairfield Conn. although it has frequetly appeared in print that William and Nicholas were brothers
