[Platt1 13] RP came in 1638 and landed at New Haven. He had 84 acres of land in and around New haven. In Milford. he was enrolled among its first settlers having four children with him. His name is on the list of free planters in 1646. Was chosen a deacon of the first church in Milford in 1669. His wife Mary died there. He died in 1684.

[Platt2] children: Mary bp at Royden; John, Issac, Samuel and Sarah bp at Ware; Epenetus, Hannah, Josiah, and Joseph were born at Milford. RP was the 3rd of 5 children of GP.

[Milford 547-8] RP was at Ware during Rev Charles Chauncey ministry (1627-1633) He died shortly before 13 February 1684/5 when the inventory of his estate was taken. He no doubt was educated at the grammar school at Ware, and may have become a tailor as his father and grandfather were. He was apprenticed in 1629, and that implies that he was in some trade at some time. In 1639 he was a freeplanter and his home lot was #38 consisting of 4 acres and 1 rod, near the corner of the present West Main and Cherry Streets.
