[Prichard1] Name is from the welsh 'ap Richard' - son of Richard. Was at Wethersfield Ct among the early settlers. In 1643 settled in Springfield Mass. 13 April 1648, freeman of Mass Bay Colony. Married second at Milford 18 December 1653, Elizabeth (Prudden) Slough. Settled in Milford and joined the church there in 28 May 1654. Elizabeth had been admitted to the church 8 September 1644 as the daughter of James Prudden (church register adds 'since married William Slow') and that she died 27 April 1668. (Slow had been executed at New haven for a secual deviation under the Mosaic law which was then the law of the New Haven Colony. Perhaps Roger moved to New Haven to live with his daughter, Mrs Bradley, for he died there.

[Gillespie 384-385] First mentioned as a witness of the will of Joyce Ward of Wethersfield Conn, 15 November 1640, as Roger Prichat. In his second marriage, he is referred to as Roger Pruchat, late of Springfield. One of the early settlers of Wethersfield, moving to Springfield in 1643. In 1646, owned 28 acres of land; 1 May 1645, appointed to collect fines for the town; freeman 13 April 1648. In about 1652 he moved to Milford and later to New Haven, perhaps to live with his daughter, Mrs William Bradley. 6 December 1670 ``Richard Pritherch'' filed a complaint against John Parker for damages amounting to 25 shillings. 3 children by Francess: Alice, Joan, and Nathaniel; 2 by Elizabeth (Prudden) Slough: Joseph and Benjamin.
