[Gillespie 384-385] First mentioned as a witness of the will of Joyce Ward of Wethersfield Conn, 15 November 1640, as Roger Prichat. In his second marriage, he is referred to as Roger Pruchat, late of Springfield. One of the early settlers of Wethersfield, moving to Springfield in 1643. In 1646, owned 28 acres of land; 1 May 1645, appointed to collect fines for the town; freeman 13 April 1648. In about 1652 he moved to Milford and later to New Haven, perhaps to live with his daughter, Mrs William Bradley. 6 December 1670 ``Richard Pritherch'' filed a complaint against John Parker for damages amounting to 25 shillings. 3 children by Francess: Alice, Joan, and Nathaniel; 2 by Elizabeth (Prudden) Slough: Joseph and Benjamin.
