[Fairfield 1:548-9] TS came to Boston in the Frances, April 1634, aged 48, with wife Alice, aged 47, and children Anna (14), Rose (11), Thomas (10), and Rebecca (9). He came to Wethersfield with the first settlers in 1635, was a carpenter, and sold his lands to George Wyllys, 25 March 1640. He removed to Stamford, where he lived until 1648 when he sold to John Holly and settled in Fairfield. He may then have been related to Thomas Morehouse, whose holdings adjoined his in Wethersfield and who accompanied him in his subsequent migrations. Will of 21 July 1655, proved 25 October 1655. Children by Alice: Thomas, Jane, Tamsen, Margaret, Sarah, Hannah, Rose and Rebeccah; Children by wife Mary: Stephen, Matthew, Mary, Ruth, Abigail, and Isaac.

Mary married 2) John Banks. Will dated 6 January 1693/4.

[Gillespie 443-447] TS probably removed to Stamford before 1647 and remained there until at least 1648. Entries in Fairfield did not begin until 1649 when he sold land to William Bateman. TS died between 21 July 1655 the date of his will, and 25 October 1655 when his inventory was taken (which exceeded 350 pounds). TS's wife Mary has often been incorrectly identified as a Fitch (see TAG 27:157-8).
