[TAG 14:87-96] The will of Elizabeth Gardiner of Hartford, dated 16 June 1681 and proved 2 March 1681-2 is further proof that JF married Mary Stone. The will names ``my sons Samuel Stone, daughter Elizabeth (Sedgwick), step daughters Rebecca Nash, Mary Fitch, and Sarah Butler.

[Goodwin 211-213] One of the first settlers of Hartford Conn, and second pastor of the First Church of Hartford. Married 1) --; 2) Elizabeth Allen who married George Gardiner of Salem Mass, merchant (who was of Hartford in 1673). EA died at hartford in 1681. Children: Joseph, Lydia, --, Abigail ( the lst three of which were baptized between 1647 and 1650), Samuel, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Mary, and Sarah. Boston 1st church records of 24 March 1638-9 has admission of Elizabeth Allen; July 1641, letter of recommendation for Mrs Elizabeth Stone, lately called Mrs Eliza Allen, but now the wife of Samuel Stone, the teacher of the church of Hartford. Inventory of SS estate valued at 563-01-00, 127 pounds of which were books (his inventory is listed on pages 212-3)
