Yilmaz received the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. He was a research assistant from 1999 to 2005 and a post-doctoral research associate from 2005 to 2006 in the Center for Computational Electromagnetics at the University of Illinois. He joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2006, where he is currently a Professor. Dr. Yilmaz is also a core faculty member of the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at UT Austin, where he serves as the director of electromagnetics and acoustics group. His current research interests include computational electromagnetics, with emphasis on fast frequency- and time-domain integral equation solvers, parallel algorithms, antenna and scattering analysis, microwave circuits, electromagnetic interference/compatibility, bioelectromagnetics, geoelectromagnetics, and electronic packaging. |
