About Prof. Andrews Jeffrey G. Andrews is the Cullen Trust Endowed Professor (#1) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Andrews is a Fellow of the IEEE and co-author of the Prentice-Hall books Fundamentals of WiMAX (2007) and Fundamentals of LTE (2010). He received the National Science Foundation CAREER award in 2007, and work he has co-authored has received ten Best Paper awards, including four annual IEEE ComSoc journal paper awards (see CV for list). Outside of academia, Dr. Andrews developed Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems at Qualcomm from 1995-97, has consulted for Samsung, the WiMAX Forum, Clearwire, Sprint, Intel, Verizon, Microsoft, Palm, Apple, and NASA, and serves on the Technical Advisory Boards of Fastback Networks and Accelera. His degrees include a B.S. in Engineering with High Distinction from Harvey Mudd College in 1995, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1999 and 2002.
