Introduction to Hardware and Software Tools of TMS320C6748

Aim of the experiment:

The aim of the experiment is to familiarize you with the following:

  1. C6000 instruction set architecture
  2. C6748 DSP experimenter's kits
  3. TI Code Composer Studio software tools
  4. TI DSP BIOS (operating system)
  5. LabVIEW
  6. Matlab

Equipment to be checked out:

  • C6748 DSP Experimenter's Kit
  • Two BNC - stereo pin (DSP) cables 
All the above equipment can be checked out from the checkout counter on the second floor. The above list of equipment is the additional equipment required per work station.

Deviations from the laboratory manual:

  • All the projects should be maintained in the directory D:/MyProjects
  • Copy all header(s) and library files into this directory, they should be included in your project from here
  • You can get the libaries and headers needed for you program from your TAs.
  • Always be sure to backup all your files. The files will be deleted when the computer is shut down or you logoff. Loss of files is not an acceptable excuse for not submitting assignments on time.
